I Will Be That (હું તે બનીશ)

કવિ: Brian Patten (બ્રાયન પેટન)

આ કવિતામાં એક બાળક પોતાની ઈચ્છાઓ વ્યક્ત કરે છે. વડીલો તેને જે બનાવવા માંગે છે (જેમ કે ડોક્ટર, વકીલ વગેરે), તે બનવાને બદલે બાળક કુદરત સાથે જોડાયેલી વિશાળ વસ્તુઓ બનવા માંગે છે.

• 🌳 Stanza 1 (વૃક્ષ): બાળક વૈજ્ઞાનિક (Scientist) કે સમાચાર વાંચનાર (News reader) બનવા નથી માંગતો. તે એક વૃક્ષ (Tree) બનીને મુક્ત (Free) રહેવા માંગે છે.
• 🌊 Stanza 2 (મહાસાગર): બાળક પાયલટ, ડાન્સર, વકીલ કે ડોક્ટર બનવા નથી માંગતો. તે મહાસાગર (Ocean) બનવા માંગે છે જેમાં મોટી વ્હેલ માછલીઓ તરી શકે.
• 🏔️ Stanza 3 (પર્વતમાળા): બાળક DJ, કોમ્પ્યુટર પ્રોગ્રામર, સંગીતકાર કે બ્યુટિશિયન બનવા નથી માંગતો. તે પર્વતમાળા (Range of Mountains) બનવા માંગે છે જ્યાં ઝરણાં વહેતા હોય અને ગરુડ (Eagles) નું ઘર હોય.

Story Summary

સ્વર્ગની ચાવી (તેનાલી રામન)

આ એક નાટક છે જે અંધશ્રદ્ધા વિરુદ્ધ સંદેશ આપે છે.

• Scene 1 (રાજાનો દરબાર): રાજા કૃષ્ણદેવરાય તેના મંત્રીઓ વિશે પૂછે છે. દરબારી જણાવે છે કે મંત્રીઓ એક 'મહાન સાધુ' ના કેમ્પમાં ગયા છે. આ સાધુ હિમાલયથી આવ્યો છે અને હવામાંથી સિક્કા કે રાખ ઉત્પન્ન કરી શકે છે. રાજા તેનાલી રામનને સત્ય શોધવા મોકલે છે.
• Scene 2 (ગામમાં સાધુનો કેમ્પ): સાધુ આંખો બંધ કરીને બેઠો છે. ગામલોકો તેને ચોખા, પૈસા અને ભેટ ધરે છે. સાધુ પૂજા કરીને કોઈને પણ અમીર બનાવવાનો દાવો કરે છે.
• The Climax (રામનની યુક્તિ): તેનાલી રામન સાધુ પાસે જઈને કહે છે કે મારે સ્વર્ગમાં જવું છે. તે અચાનક સાધુની દાઢીમાંથી એક વાળ ખેંચી લે છે અને બૂમ પાડે છે - "મને સ્વર્ગની ચાવી મળી ગઈ! આ પવિત્ર સાધુના દરેક વાળ સ્વર્ગમાં જવાની સીધી ટિકિટ છે."
• The Truth: આ સાંભળી ગામલોકો પણ વાળ ખેંચવા દોડે છે. ઢોંગી સાધુ પીડાથી બૂમો પાડીને ભાગી જાય છે. રામન લોકોને સમજાવે છે કે જાદુથી કોઈ અમીર નથી થતું, મહેનતથી થવાય છે.

Grammar Point: જ્યારે કોઈ કામ કરવું ખૂબ જરૂરી હોય અથવા નિયમ હોય, ત્યારે Must વપરાય છે.
