What is Parallelism?

વાક્યમાં સમાન પેટર્ન (Same Pattern) જાળવી રાખવી એટલે Parallelism.
⭐ જો એક શબ્દ Noun હોય, તો વાક્યના જોડાણમાં બાકીના પણ Noun હોવા જોઈએ!
⭐ જો એક શબ્દ Verb હોય, તો બાકીના પણ Verb હોવા જોઈએ!

તમારી જાતને પૂછો: "શું બંને બાજુ Same Grammar Pattern છે?" જો ના, તો વાક્યમાં ભૂલ છે!

Rule 1 Verb + Verb + Verb

• ✅ She likes to read, to write and to sing. (ત્રણેય To + Verb છે. સમાન માળખું.)
• ✅ She likes reading, writing and singing. (ત્રણેય Verb-ing છે. સમાન માળખું.)
• ❌ She likes reading, to write and singing. (અહીં પેટર્ન તૂટી ગઈ. વચ્ચે 'to write' ન આવે.)

Rule 2 Noun + Noun + Noun

• ✅ He bought Apples, Mangoes, and Bananas. (ત્રણેય માત્ર ફળના નામ એટલે કે Noun છે.)
• ❌ He bought Apples, Mangoes, and Eating bananas. (છેલ્લે 'Eating' ક્રિયાપદ આવી ગયું, Noun નથી.)

Rule 3 Adjective + Adjective

• ✅ The movie was Interesting, Funny, and Emotional. (ત્રણેય વિશેષણ (Adjectives) છે.)
• ❌ The movie was Interesting, Funny, and Entertain. (Entertain એ Verb છે, Adjective 'Entertaining' હોવું જોઈએ.)

Rule 4 Infinitive Pattern (To+V1)

• ✅ I want to study, to work, and to travel. (બધા 'To + Verb' છે.)
• ❌ I want to study, working, and to travel. ('working' મૂકીને પેટર્ન તોડી નાખી.)

Rule 5 Gerund Pattern (V-ing)

• ✅ He enjoys reading, writing, and dancing. (બધા 'Verb-ing' છે.)
• ❌ He enjoys reading, to write, and dancing. ('to write' ને કારણે પેટર્ન મિક્સ થઈ ગઈ.)

Rule 6 Comparison (Than / As...as)

સરખામણીમાં બંને બાજુ Structure સરખું હોવું જોઈએ.

• ✅ She is better at singing than dancing. (-ing ની સરખામણી -ing સાથે.)
• ❌ She is better at singing than to dance. (અહીં માળખું ખોટું છે.)

Rule 7 Either... Or

• ✅ Either you apologize or leave. (બંને Verb છે.)
• ✅ Either study or sleep. (બંને Verb નું મૂળ રૂપ છે.)
• ❌ Either studying or sleep. (એકમાં -ing છે અને બીજામાં નથી.)

Rule 8 Neither... Nor

• ✅ Neither Ram nor Mohan came. (બંને બાજુ નામ/Noun છે.)
• ✅ Neither reading nor writing interests him. (બંને બાજુ Gerund છે.)
• ❌ Neither reading nor to write interests him. (માળખું મિસમેચ છે.)

Rule 9 Not Only... But Also

• ✅ She is not only intelligent but also hardworking. (બંને વિશેષણો છે.)
• ✅ He likes not only reading but also writing. (-ing ફોર્મેટ.)
• ❌ He likes not only reading but also to write. (માળખું ખોટું છે.)

Rule 10 Both... And

• ✅ Both the teacher and the students were happy. (બંને Noun છે.)
• ✅ Both reading and writing improve English. (બંને Gerund છે.)
• ❌ Both reading and to write improve English. (માળખું ખોટું છે.)
